Post-Op Care for Veneers

As veneers require some removal of your original tooth structure, you will need to take special care between appointments to protect and care for your teeth and ensure your treatment goes as planned. You will receive detailed instructions on what to do once your procedure is completed.

Dr. Yost will administer a local anesthetic during both of your appointments. Refrain from eating for two hours or until the anesthetic has worn off. You will also experience tooth sensitivity, especially to cold, following treatment. We recommend avoiding hot or cold beverages for several days and using mild pain relievers to help manage pain.

Temporary Veneers

Temporary veneers will be placed to protect your teeth after your first appointment. Avoid sticky foods and floss gently while wearing these temporaries. If the temporary comes off, contact our office so that we can replace it.

Post-Placement

It may take you several days to get used to your veneers. If your bite still feels unbalanced after this time, contact our office and make an appointment for an adjustment. You may resume normal brushing and flossing immediately.
