Digital X-Rays
One of the advanced diagnostic tools we use at Advanced Dental Artistry are digital X-rays.
While digital X-rays may seem common, they make dental imaging faster, safer, more effective and more comfortable than ever before. This type of dental imaging uses a digital sensor to capture images of your teeth and supporting structures rather than film.
This means that your X-rays produce significantly less radiation and do not require any chemicals for developing images. Instead, Dr. Kenneth Yost can instantly view high-quality images on the monitors in your treatment room to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Digital X-rays are used to identify and diagnose a wide variety of dental problems, including:
- Tooth decay, especially between the teeth
- Developmental abnormalities
- Irregular tooth root positioning
- Cysts, abscesses and tumors
- Fractures in the teeth and fillings
- Infection in the tooth nerves
- Bone loss
Our dentist may also use digital X-rays to plan your treatments and ensure that they are performed as precisely as possible. Some common types of treatment that we may use digital X-rays to plan include oral surgery procedures and dental implant placement.
