Dental Inlays & Onlays

At Advanced Dental Artistry, we are committed to providing high-quality dental care that will improve your oral health and promote your long-term well-being. Part of this commitment involves providing conservative treatments whenever possible. One example of the conservative, restorative treatments that Dr. Kenneth Yost provides are dental inlays and onlays.

Inlays and onlays are typically recommended when a tooth is too badly damaged to be repaired by a filling but does not require a full crown. In fact, inlays and onlays are sometimes referred to as “partial crowns.”

The difference between the two options is that an inlay is used when the damage does not reach the cusps, or pointed ends, of the tooth. An onlay is recommended when the damage to the tooth extends to one or more of the cusps. During your initial consultation, our dentist will examine your teeth to determine which option is right for you.

They are a more conservative treatment option that work to repair your damaged tooth while maintaining and supporting as much of your original tooth structure as possible. Once placed, an inlay or onlay is virtually invisible, giving you back a beautiful smile as well as healthy and functional teeth.
