Advanced Dental Technology for Better Smiles in Wilmington, DE

As a state-of the-art dental practice, Advanced Dental Artistry regularly invests in advanced dental technologies as part of our mission to best serve our patients.

Advanced Dental Artistry also features many advanced technologies in our office. Dr. Yost carefully evaluates each technology to determine its value to our patients and if it will provide the high-quality results our patients need.

New dental technologies offer many benefits including:

  • Increased ease of access
  • Reduced patient stress
  • Improved diagnostic accuracy
  • Lower material costs

From accurate diagnoses and treatments that are more precise to comfortable and expeditious care, here are some of the technologies used in our office:

Dental Lab:

The in-house dental lab offers many benefits, such as:

  • Complete quality control. Dr. Yost does most of his own lab work, ensuring that your final result will provide you with a high-quality, long-term solution for your smile.
  • Creating oral appliances and restorations such as  crowns, bridges, dentures, bleaching trays, models, and bite guards in significantly less time.
  • Minimizing your treatment time, the time you go without teeth and the wait time between appointments. Most repairs can be done on-site in less than 24 hours.
  • The ability to provide most lab work in-house

Dental Loupes:

Also known as “surgical microscopes,” dental loupes work to enhance vision so that Dr. Yost can view your teeth in detail and ensure that treatment is meeting your needs.

Dental loupes are binocular-like in appearance and are worn like glasses. They have several levels of magnification, allowing Dr. Yost to illuminate and magnify previously unseen areas of your teeth in great detail to examine areas that might otherwise have gone unnoticed. This makes it possible for him to make more accurate diagnoses and plan more effective treatments

Digital Impressions:

We use the state-of-the-art 3Shape TRIOS® scanner to take digital impressions. This device provides you with a more modern, efficient and comfortable experience, and it allows Dr. Yost to provide you with today’s most highly customized restorations.

Traditional impressions are messy and uncomfortable. By using a digital scanner instead of a mold, we eliminate the need for goopy impression materials and can quickly scan your mouth to create a precise impression of your teeth and supporting structures.

Digital X-Rays:

While digital X-rays may seem common, they make dental imaging faster, safer, more effective and more comfortable than ever before. This type of dental imaging uses a digital sensor to capture images of your teeth and supporting structures rather than film.

This means that your X-rays produce significantly less radiation and do not require any chemicals for developing images. Instead, Dr. Yost can instantly view high-quality images on the monitors in your treatment room to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Electric Handpieces:

Electric handpieces are used to remove decayed or damaged portions of a tooth in preparation for restorative treatment. Unlike air-driven handpieces, electric handpieces are driven by a motor. This makes them stronger and helps Dr. Yost remove damaged tooth tissue more quickly and make your visit shorter.

Electric handpieces are also quieter and smoother, removing some of the stress caused by the sounds of the office and making your experience more comfortable.

Intraoral Cameras:

Intraoral cameras are also used to follow up after a treatment has been completed and to help provide you with more information about your oral health and dental treatments. Photos captured by this device may be sent to specialists or submitted to defined benefit plan companies as needed.

Intraoral cameras are small, pen-shaped devices. They are easily maneuverable and can reach all angles of your mouth without causing discomfort. This allows us to capture high-quality color photos of your teeth and gums so that Dr. Yost can detect problems and prescribe appropriate treatments.

Laser Dentistry:

Among the state-of-the-art technologies used in our office are dental lasers. Lasers allow us to provide treatments more comfortably, quickly and effectively. Treatments completed with a dental laser are very comfortable and may not require the use of an anesthetic.

The precision of a laser means that we can treat the targeted area without impacting any nearby tissues. Lasers also reduce your overall treatment and healing time and decrease your risk of infection following treatment. Additionally, lasers minimize bleeding both during and after treatment.

Advanced dental technologies include not only the cutting-edge devices used in our office but also the tools, equipment, materials and treatment techniques.
